⛳️ Get Unstuck & Reinventing the Wheel can be HOT

Hello Friends,

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈLet's get unstuck together!

Let's dive into three ideas to help you start scripting your best life.

IDEA #1: "I'm a grown up. I don't think I'm special."

- Liza Miller (Sutton Foster), Younger, TV Land

THE INSIGHT: Thinking that oneself is special can be a symbol of self-love but it can also result in feelings of entitlement and arrogance. It's a thin line between self-love and self-indulgence. This could also be one of the factors keeping you stuck in certain situations or in a mindset that closes you off to possibilities that you believe are "beneath" you.

"Life was not designed to give you what you need, life was designed to give you what you deserve.
If you didn't plant in the spring, then no harvest comes your way. If you planted little, then you are not gonna receive a lot." - Jim Rohn

TRY THIS: The "Because I am Special, I Deserve..." Exercise

List out all the things you believe you deserve in life because of your belief that you are special. Go through the list while imagining that someone else wrote it, would you think that the list is realistic or entitled?

IDEA #2: I've been spinning my wheels for years and I'm nowhere

- Pryce Cahill (Owen Wilson), Stick, Apple TV

THE INSIGHT: Life is a series of peaks and valleys. It's the duration at each stage that affects the way we view life. Valleys aren't all bad. They can be a time to reevaluate, take stock and recharge. It can also be a comfortable place to reside if you lack a strong sense of purpose and meaning. We believe in progress and not perfection, so it isn't about racing up to accomplish the next peak in life, but rather, how are we moving forward?

TRY THIS: The "My Comfort Zone" Exercise

Make a list of what you're enjoying in your life right now. For example, extra hours on weekdays due to commute time savings (thanks WFH!)

Put this list next to your list of Goals or "Good to accomplish" tasks.

Is this comfort zone list keeping you from working on those goals?

IDEA #3: Is Money the only thing keeping you going?

THE INSIGHT: Extrinsic motivators like money and recognition are powerful. However they aren't as powerful as what drives you internally. Dig deep and figure out what would you happily do everyday even if you weren't paid. What activities get you into a flow state that you don't even want to stop for a snack break?

TRY THIS: List down your flow activities. They don't all have to be utilitarian or activities that earn you money. Just be honest with yourself on what you enjoy. It can be watching tv (like me), playing wordle, deciphering Taylor Swift's easter eggs etc. Go through the list and understand what you like about them. Is it about learning something new from watching tv? If it is, can you transpose this love for learning into something else, like understanding how to use AI in your line of work? This exercise is meant to make you aware of your skills and what you enjoy so that you can sustain what you choose to go forth in.

In the case of Taylor Swift's easter eggs, you're probably great at seeing patterns, identifying clues, reading between the lines and all these skills are so valuable in the age of AI. Find out what comes easy to you and make the tasks you embark on easier for yourself.

Hello Friends, Welcome to March. February was a Lunar focused month. The Lunar New Year celebrations and the start of Ramadan fasting. It was a blend of higher social interaction and solitary introspection. There are people who look forward to gatherings and thrive in them. There are also those that dread and avoid them. As a Founder, it's easy to remain in build / focus mode and make it the default. It may be hard to see value in mingling, socializing and dare I say the word - networking,...
